Why we built it

Recordings pile up. A voice memo from a walk, an hour-long standup, a lecture you meant to revisit. Listening back takes as long as the original, so most of it never gets used. SpeakNotes started in 2023 as a way to close that gap: drop in the audio, get back a transcript and a summary shaped like the notes you would have written if you had the time.

The idea held up. SpeakNotes now handles meetings, lectures, podcasts, interviews, YouTube videos, and PDFs, in more than 50 languages, for over 50,000 people.

What you can do with it

Upload audio or video, paste a YouTube link, record straight in the browser, or send a meeting bot to Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. Every result comes back in the output style you pick: a short note, a cleaned-up transcript, bullet points, meeting notes with action items, flash cards, or a draft blog post. From there it exports to Notion, Obsidian, PDF, and Word, or leaves through the API.

How we handle your recordings

Your recordings and notes belong to you. They are stored so you can come back to them, they are never sold, and they are not used to train third-party models. You can delete any note, or your whole account, whenever you want. The privacy policy spells out exactly which processors touch your data and why.

Who builds SpeakNotes

SpeakNotes is made by JRL Software LTD, a company registered in England and Wales. It is a small operation, which mostly means support replies come from someone who wrote the code rather than a queue.
